Tillandsia are a family of plants native to southern USA, South and Central America. They are epiphytes, which means that they grow without soil. I find them fascinating and unusual, maybe because I live in Canada.

In 2015 I bought about 150 air plants and made little stands for them. Some stands were just cut branches or unfinished planks, while others required much more work. Most of the ones shown below were given to friends and acquaintances as part of The Happiness Project.
